The world of Final Fantasy VII is Gaia (planet). This special planet is alive with life force; a stream of spiritual energy called the Lifestream.
Inhabiting Gaia are many creatures, humanoids, and spiritual beings that populate the four major continents. There is the icy North, grassy East with it's swampland, the West with it's few deserts, and the oriental Wutai.
